Maruti exploring Gujarat, Tata returning to West Bengal

Maruti is exploring Gujarat to set up its manufacturing plant there. Earlier, there were rumors in the Indian Auto Market that even Ford India and Hyundai India were pretty interested in setting up their plant in Gujarat. Tata Motors, inventors of Tata Nano and General Motors India are both happy, as they already have their manufacturing plants in Gujarat. Now, Maruti Suzuki seems to join the Gujarat league by showing interest in setting up their plant there. According to some reports, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd recently stopped-over to Gujarat with inquisitiveness of investing in the state for its car manufacturing plant.

There was a buzz in Indian Auto Market that Maruti is no longer the leader in the field, so it is pretty concerned to get back to the top position. And with creating a new car plant in Gujarat could certainly help Maruti to get back on the top position. Maruti is known as people’s car, and gradually this tag is taken by Tata Nano. Apparently, Maruti administrators are visiting numerous sites for their plant and it is expected that it will reach its final call pretty soon. Maruti Suzuki has already made plans to introduce the new and latest Maruti Swift, which is expected to launch next year or so.
