The Indian market is mostly dominated by hatchback and compact cars. Volkswagen which has recently entered into the game in the year 2007 has been better than many other overseas companies as it has grabbed a 3 per cent market share in four years which is not so early achieved by any other foreign companies. This may be due to the strategy opted by Volkswagen to launch cars with competitive price tags. Volkswagen Vento was brought in the market with a lesser price tag than that of Honda City in sedan segment. The hatchback model of Volkswagen, Volkswagen Polo is one of the least priced car model in India. In future, Ford, Volkswagen, Toyota and many others are revising their strategies to get a perfect hold over the Indian Market.
