Maruti Omni's new avatar Eko before Diwali

In order to grab the most of the car market and woo the customers, India's leading car maker, Maruti, is reported to launch new avatar of Maruti Omni christened as Eko. The new Maruti Omni is likely to be introduced before the biggest Indian festival-Diwali. Maruti Versa platform has been used for the new car. The code name is O2 for the new product. The Maruti Omni was developed on Maruti 800, the flagship model of the company in India, but this time it will be a premium product which is expected to be priced below Rs 5 lakh. The power mill will have 796cc of displacement that develops 35bhp of maximum torque at 6.1/kgm. The dimension of the car is- 3370mm (length), 1410mm (width ) and 1640mm (height) while the weight of the new car is 750kg. Besides Maruti, Tata and General Motors are also going to launch Tata Manza and Chevrolet Cruze respectivly in the festival season.
