Maruti Suzuki Becomes the First Automaker in India to Roll Out 15 Millionth Vehicle

Maruti now aims for 2 million vehicles per annum by 2020 and for this, it plans to introduce new vehicles in various segments in near future!
Country’s largest automaker - Maruti Suzuki today announced that they have rolled out 15 millionth car. And became the first automaker in the country to do the same! The 15 millionth car was a Maruti Suzuki Swift DZire VDi (Chassis No. MA3FJEB1S00740865) rolled out from the company’s Manesar manufacturing facility.
Moving down the history lane, the first car that rolled out from the manufacturing unit was a Maruti 800 in December 1983. The company has achieved this milestone in 31 years and 5 months. Moreover, in March 1994 they reached 1 million milestone, April 2005 - 5 million, March 2011 - 10 million and May 2015 - 15 million.
Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, Executive Director, Production, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “Maruti Suzuki’s journey has been one of Kaizen and continuous improvement. Our people on the shop floor make enormous contribution so that we can offer more and better to our customers, and fulfil their needs and aspirations”
He added: “Of course, we want to get to 20 million in good time, by making quality products with the help of capable and motivated people”.
