Maruti Suzuki Enters LCV Segment With Super Carry

Maruti Suzuki has gone out of its forte of passenger vehicles and has announced that it will begin sales of the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) Super Carry from August-end. Initially, the carmaker plans to sell the LCV in Kolkata, Ludhiana and Ahmedabad. It will be retailed through the company’s newly setup commercial channel.

Powering the LCV is a 793cc diesel engine which produces max power of 32PS at 3500rpm and max torque of 75Nm at 2000rpm. Mated to a five-speed manual transmission, the vehicle returns impressive fuel efficiency of 22.07kmpl and has a top speed of 80kmph. 

Confident on their new venture, R.S Kalsi, executive director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki said, “Super Carry is designed and developed basis detailed research and understanding of customer requirements. It offers best of both the worlds – power and strength as well as carrying capacity. We are confident Super Carry will enhance the profitability of our customers.”

The Super Carry has a bigger loading area and comes with increased focus on safety. It gets front disc brake and Load Sensing Proportioning Valve (LSPV) braking system for better stability during braking. Bigger and wider windscreen, ORVMs (driver & co-driver) and high tensile material is used for added protection.

It has decent capacity to carry 740kgs of load on all terrains. For hassle free driving experience, Maruti has supplemented the Super Carry with lighter steering for reduced driving fatigue. It has a wheelbase of 2110mm. The vehicle gets good amount of features, such as a mobile charging socket, dual assist grip, odometer, trip meter, fuel meter, stereo and digital clock. Other convenient features include integrated rain guard, readily openable sliding back window glass, and precisely located spare wheel carrier for effortless replacement.

Super Carry is offered in two shades -- Superior White and Silky Silver.
