Maruti Suzuki posts 19.5 percent growth to 1.1 lakh units in November 2014

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MSIL) has posted 19.5 percent year on year increase in its total sales in the month of November. The carmaker sold 1,10,147 units in the month, up against 92,140 units in the same month last year. Its domestic sales grew by 17 percent on yearly basis to 1 lakh units, while the exports surged 52.7 percent to 10,123 units during the same period.
The mid-size segment, that includes SX4 and the October-launched Ciaz, showed a hefty 2516 percent growth in the month, at 5,232 units. Whereas the old Dzire aka Tour, notched 229 percent growth to 1,989 units, as compared to 604 units during the same month previous year. The vans from the company’s stable including the Omni and Eeco, stood at 12,203 units, a good 52.1 percent above the 8,021 units sold in same month last year.
MSI's compact cars including Ritz, Celerio, Swift and Dzire recorded 13.8 percent sales increment at 37,339 units, as compared to 32804 units in November last year. However, its mini cars sales comprising Alto and WagonR, fell marginally by 0.8 percent to 37,746 units, as against 38040 units in the corresponding month previous year. Even the sales of company's utility vehicles such as Ertiga, Grand Vitara and Gypsy declined by 5.6 percent to 5,515 units, as the company had delivered 5840 UVs in November 2013.
