Maruti Suzuki to enter into D-segment car with Kizashi

Maruti Suzuki is to enter into D-segment car with its first luxury family car Kizashi vy 2010-end. After the launch of Kizashi, Maruti Suzuki will enter into D-segment cars for the first time. It is to be mentioned here that Maruti Suzuki is a leader in th A, B and C-segment cars in the country. The car will be the first all-wheel drive sedan in the luxury D-segment. However, the price and other related details are not disclosed yet, probably it may have a price tag of around 10 lakh. The Kizashi Concept was first unveiled by Suzuki at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. Industry sources said that the car would be launched from MSIL's state-of-the-art-facility in Manesar. The company expects to compete the new car with Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla Altis, Chevrolet Optra, Skoda Octavia and Volkswagen Jetta et al. Industry sources claimed that the company has already started working on Kizashi to take it from the concept stage to the production platform. Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director Shinzo Nakanishi informed that the 2-litre engine Kizashi would be the biggest car in SMC's passenger car portfolio and the company would not go beyond that engine capacity.
