The launch is expected at the upcoming 2016 Indian Auto Expo and will compete with the likes of Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV3OO

Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming compact SUV has been spied again, the vehicle is probably in last stages of its testing as the launch is expected in February at the Expo. The automaker might reveal it next month. This vehicle will foray Maruti into the highly competent and growing sub-4m SUVs/crossovers segment. On the lines of recently launched products by the automaker, YBA will come loaded with features. YBA is the internal codename and its official name could be revealed next month or at the Expo, however, reports suggest that it will be called Vitara Brezza. The vehicle was reportedly spied in Rajasthan.

The spied vehicle is extensively camouflaged, but there are few things to look here, it will get dual barrel headlamp with segment first Bi-Xenon projector headlamps with LED DRLs (obvious as Baleno also offers the same). The tyres look fatter, probably have 205 cross-section radials; which was expected as EcoSport, TUV3OO, Avventura - all offer tyre cross-section over 200. Moreover, it rides on sportier twin-five-spoke alloy wheels and these look way better than the drab-lookings alloys of Baleno and S-Cross.

Mechanically, the YBA is expected to borrow the engine options from Maruti Suzuki Ciaz - 1.3-liter DDiS200 diesel with SHVS (mild hybrid) along with 1.2-liter VVT petrol. Transmission options would include - standard 5-speed MT while CVT from Baleno may also make its way into YBA.
