Mazda to develop the most fuel-efficient petrol car

Japanese automotive manufacturer, Mazda Motor Corp has stated that its next subcompact Mazda2/Demio will have a fuel economy of around thirty kilometers per litre (70 mpg) and that too, without any support or help of any electric motor. The vehicle with such fuel economy may render it the most fuel-efficient gasoline vehicle in the auto market. The new product will be introduced in the Japanese market during the first half of the year 2011. This product will be launched as the first of its kind to have Mazda's next-generation engine and also the transmission technology. 

Mazda Motor Corporation has got the plan of improving and developing an efficient fuel economy upon its products. Mazda intends to develop and improve this fuel economy by around thirty percent by the year 2015. Chief Executive Officer Takashi Yamanouchi commented that they are thinking of introducing a product which completely incorporates the SKYACTIV technologies worldly in the year 2012. On the other hand, Daihatsu Motor Company, the popular minivehicle maker of Japan has also stated that it also intends to make a gasoline product that would be able to achieve a fuel economy of 30 km/litre which will be equal to that of the mild hybrid version of new Fit subcompact of Honda Motor Company. Yamanouchi further added that he promises that the company will definitely provide the Demio at a reduced cost than a hybrid of the similar segment. Though Mazda Motor Corporation has got no hybrid system of its own but it is looked upon as among the most advanced automakers in terms of internal combustion engine and weight reduction technology.

Mazda Motor Corporation also stated that the novel direct injection gasoline engine of the company gets improvised in terms of mileage chiefly because of the highest engine compression ratio of the world. Yamanouchi commented that the company planned to manufacture on its present technologies for developing plug-in hybrids, pure electric cars and hybrids. Yamanouchi also reiterated the official statement of Mazda Motor Corporation that the strategic relationship of the company with Ford Motor Co, the top shareholder, remained intact
