McLaren Special Operations (MSO), bespoke department of the British supercar manufacturer, has expanded its personalisation options. Now there are five specific levels of tailoring programs, that offers upgrades right from minor exterior tweaks to dedicated racing-oriented mod job. Listed below are five levels (in ascending order) :
MSO Defined: This program is for those who are relatively new to the world of vehicle personalisation. The list of mods included in this level, comes as the installation of aero kits and carbon fiber components replacement covering rear diffuser, side mirror stands as well as few interior elements.
MSO Bespoke: This level provides the buyer with a limitless choice of paints, leather upholstery, stitching and body changes. The options offered can be as simple as unique paint or leather trims and can go up to as complex as one-off vehicle.
MSO Limited: As its name suggests, this program specialises in making limited-run and special edition examples of existing McLaren products. The McLaren 50 12C, which marked the brand’s 50th anniversary, is the prime example of this Limited level.
MSO Heritage: This program is actually an evolution of brand's original Customer Care Program launched in the 1990s, to cater to owners of McLaren’s first road car, the F1. This basically looks after owners of McLaren models which are no longer in production, such as the F1 as well as the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and more recent 12C.
MSO Programmes: Finally, the recently-launched MSO Programs division encompasses the upcoming P1 GTR track special and all related services, such as driver training, vehicle transport and maintenance, and the organizing of track day events across the world.
According to MSO Executive Director Paul Mackenzie, "There is a strong desire for drivers to personalize their cars and I’m convinced that the introduction of MSO Defined line will prove popular amongst our customers."
"Every McLaren is unique but now, with more choice than ever before, we are enabling our customers to truly express themselves through their vehicles,” he added.
