Skoda has revealed the new Superb in Prague, this third generation sedan is heading for its public debut at the 2015 85th Geneva Motor Show early next month. The 2016 Superb will be launched in the month of June while deliveries will start in UK in September. Indian launch is expected early next year.
The sedan is based on the VW’s MQB platform and showcases how the future Skoda’s will look like and meanwhile subtly resembling family’s latest offering Octavia. The third-gen Superb’s wheelbase has been increased by 80 mm making it one of the spacious offering in class and indeed it is one of the USP of the on-going car itself!

Standard
- European models comes as standard with ESC (Electronic-Stability-Control); Multi-Collision Brake along with Front-Assist and Emergency-Brake; Electronic-Tyre-Pressure-Monitoring; Seven airbags; Five three-point automatic seat belts and safety headrests; and Electronic-Differential-Lock
Optional
- Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) - keeps it at a safe distance from the vehicle ahead
- Crew Protect Assist - driver and co-passenger are prepped for the impending collision
- Lane Assist - helps to keep the vehicle in a lane

Engines?
Five TSI petrol, three TDI common-rail diesel globally, India will be offered with one of TSI and TDI each, like the on-going car
The third generation Skoda Superb features direct-injected turbocharged motors - five TSI petrol, three TDI common-rail diesel engines. The TSI ranges from 125 HP to 280 HP while the diesel ranges from 120 HP to 190 HP. Skoda says that all the engines comply to Euro 6 emission norms and comes standard with Stop-Start technology and brake energy regeneration. The engines are mated to dual-clutch DSG transmissions, except for the base petrol and four engines are available with all-wheel drive based on the Haldex 5 clutch. Skoda promises that this third-gen Superb is 30 percent fuel efficient courtesy to the approximately 75 kg weight reduction and the new design which has improved the aerodynamics.
