The German luxury car maker, Mercedes Benz has finally raised the curtain from the Mercedes Benz GL63 AMG and has subsequently released the official details and pictures of the car. This moment is of special significance as the GL-Class has received a full sized crossover SUV in the AMG-induced version for the first time ever. This newfangled model is equipped with the 5.5 liter V8 biturbo AMG engine, which is capable of churning out a peak power of 557 PS or 410 KW or 550 HP and a peak torque of 760 Nm or 560 lb-ft. The engine supports a permanent all-wheel drive system and takes the help of AMG’s Speedshift seven speed automatic transmission to transfer the power to the wheels.
The Mercedes Benz GL 63 AMG has recorded 4.9 seconds as the 0-100 kmph acceleration time and is capable of attaining a top speed of 155 mph or 250 kmph. The performance model of the car flaunts distinctively larger air intakes on the front end and the unmistakable quad-exhaust layout adorns the rear end of the car. The company will be releasing the first samples of this neoteric crossover SUV to the dealerships in the European countries by the month of November this year. The car market of the United States of America on the other hand would receive the new car by the first quarter of the year 2013. Nothing has been revealed about the prices as yet but they are expected to surface sometime close to the launch date.
