Mercedes Benz launched its 2010 M Class In India

Mercedes-Benz, Germany based luxury carmaker today launched the 2010 Mercedes-Benz M-Class in India. The new Mercedes Benz M-Class has been launched in two variants including one sports edition and one luxury edition. Where the Sport Edition of the M-Class is priced at Rs. 55 Lakhs, the Luxury Edition is priced at Rs. 60.9 lakhs (Ex-showroom Delhi).
The Mercedes Benz M-Class has secured the highest rating of five stars in the European NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) crash tests. Besides this the Mercedes Benz M-Class is the first ever vehicle which is coming with anticipatory occupant protection system PRE-SAFE, fitted as standard anywhere in the world.
We expect a good year in 2010 and we are hoping to build on the momentum of 2009 when we sold 140 M class, which was double the sales compared to 2008, Dr Wilfried G Aulbur, MD and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India, said on the occasion of launching its M-class today. Mercedes Benz India is investing Rs 200 crore in its operations in India to revitalise and expand its network here. Mr Aulbur also added that company is planning to open some new car display showrooms in India including a 26 car display in Delhi, a 12-car display in Hyderabad and a 16-car display in Chennai.
Company is growing aggressively and has a clear strategy in place for leveraging India aggressively for R and D and global sourcing added Mr Aulbur.Mercedes Benz India showcased its super luxury car Mercedes Benz SLS AMG in India at Delhi auto show, last month. The company has already received 6 bookings for this car including bookings from Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi.
