It's time for AMG fanatics to rejoice as the German automaker will be introducing the all-new E-Class in its AMG guise in September 2016. Recently introduced to the world, this will be the first AMG-tuned version of this car. This variant, christened the Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC, will be powered by a supercharged, six-cylinder engine that delivers an output of approximately 400bhp. This means, not only will this car make you feel you are living the Hamilton lifestyle, but driving it too! The new Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC will have its world premiere at the New York International Auto Show in March 2016. The sales release date is June 20, 2016 and the market launch will take place in September.
The car will still be dripping all the bits that make the E-Class a people's favourite. Outside, the 19-inch AMG five-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black will grab eyeballs with the two chrome-plated, quad-flow exhaust tailpipes. At the rear, the apron trim has also been coated with silver chrome, while the standard-specification spoiler lip on the boot lid is painted in the body colour.
Inside, the car feels as luxurious as any Benz should. To name some of the features it offers, there are exclusive pedals, a black roof lining and red seat belts. The AMG instrument cluster displays information via two tube-style round dials, a 4.5-inch multi-function colour display, the ‘RACETIMER’ and the 280 km/h scale in chequered-flag design.
When it comes to AMG models, power is the name of the game. For the number-crunchers in the world, here are a few. The Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC will feature a 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine which is capable of an output of 401bhp. The peak torque of 520Nm is available right from 2,500rpm. In coordination with the 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, the car has a 0 to 100kmph time of 4.6 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph. Also, the driver can choose between five DYNAMIC SELECT transmission modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual.
For the driving enthusiast, what this translates into is pure and extreme driving pleasure. This car will slide and smoke on a flick of the steering. The massive 520Nm torque will allow you to rip the tarmac and the 400+ bhp output will let you chase aircrafts.
"The new E 43 4MATIC offers impressive driving dynamics coupled with cutting-edge efficiency. Twin turbocharging, features adopted from motorsport and the characteristic AMG design immediately indicate to our customers that the new EClass from AMG offers pure Driving Performance coupled with cutting-edge technology and intense emotion," notes Tobias Moers, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
