Mercedes-Benz India that sells the G-Class SUV in India already is now all set to launch the even more powerful version of the car by the end of the February. Called as the G63 AMG, the new vehicle is going to replace the existing G55 AMG. The new G-Wagen SUV that made its public debut at the Bejing Auto Show earlier, has kept the design almost unchanged, however it gets some styling tweaks both inside and out.
Mechanically, the G63 now gets a new engine mated to an upgraded gearbox and a brace of new electronic driver aids. But if you look at the vehicle closely, you will find it more aggressive due to a two-slat grille, revised bumper with larger air ducts, 20-inch wheels and some more changes.
The new G63 AMG derives its power from the twin turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 engine that mated to a seven-speed 7Hg-tronic gearbox will return the maximum power output of 544bhp. Having the start-stop and brake energy recuperation systems, the car has certainly goes better in terms of fuel economy. Other features include the Merc's hi-tech Distronic Plus radar controlled cruise control system, Parktronic incorporating reversing camera for park assistance , Blind Spot Assist, revised ESP (electronic stability program) and some others.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same as we will be covering the launch event. Cheers!
