The Japanese brand is planning to discard the Mitsubishi Pajero SFX in order to give the limelight to the new 2012 Pajero Sports, which will be soon launched in the market. Since the variant had no change after its launch in Indian luxury SUV market, it may create a possibility of hampering the longevity of the new vehicle that is soon coming into the Indian market. Mitsubishi is planning to terminate the production of this well acclaimed luxury SUV in India and soon it will be no more visible in the Indian market.

The production of the vehicle has been discontinued all over the globe except in India because Pajero SFX has been known and loved by the motor enthusiasts, who are present in India. Many other models of Mitsubishi too are still running in India, which are no more in various countries. The space being used for manufacturing the Pajero SFX may be utilized further for assembling the new Pajero Sport. This news had been confirmed earlier. The 2012 Pajero sports is being imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) in India making it more expensive from the earlier version of the vehicle.

After the assembling is started in India, the cost of the new vehicle will drop down. The features of the 2012 Pajero Sports are far much better than those of the Pajero SFX. The 2.5 Litre common rail turbo diesel engines provide 176 PS of power to the vehicle. The engine is capable to give 400 Nm of torque. The engine has been matted with a manual transmission to provide power to the all four wheels. The transmission has a shift-on-the-fly 4WD system incorporated in it. The Pajero Sport SUV is capable of accommodating seven adults in the vehicle. The price of the vehicle is INR 23.65 lakhs, ex-showroom Delhi.
