M&M plans extensively for its future cars

Mahindra & Mahindra, one of the largest vehicle manufacturer is now planning to launch vehicles for the global auto market. Breaking the cliche Mahindra and Mahindra is developing a four wheel drive based on monocoque. With the new launches in the kitty, M&M is also planning to revamp its older products such as Mahindra Xylo, Mahindra Bolero and Mahindra Scorpio. The company also wish to start soon with Reva which is based on the Logan platform.

Mahindra is also busy with revamping the existing models. In league of changing its fractional value, Mahindra Scorpio is soon to bid adieu as the flagship model of the company. Taking the place will be the all new SUV W201 and will be neatly defined both externally and internally.

The new SUV model is fitted with 2.2 litre mHawk engine which will generate power of 102 bhp to 140 bhp approx and torque of 32.6 kgm with an all new transaxle, especially designed for W201. With the assistance of Ricardo, five and six speed speed cable operated gearbox have been developed for the same. There are speculations that the company may increase the power up to 170 bhp with a twin turbo, in the future. The SUV will come in front or four wheel drive which will be affixed with traction control, hill descent, ESP and more in options.

M&M is planning to play safe and is in no hurry to put across anything but best. The company will keep a vigilant eye on Tata Aria and than will play its cars. As per the sources the, all new SUV will be company's prime fascia and will be placed above Mahindra Scorpio. The price tag expected will be Rs 13 lacs for the front-wheel-drive and Rs 14 lacs for four-wheel-drive.

Mahindra Xylo is the next in row which will be revamped with range of variants. It will be launched in single or double cab Xylo coded as :U202. The next in row is compact variant of Xylo U203 which is affixed with the same 1.5 litre, three cylinder engine, predicted to be for Rs 5 lacs, the car is expected to be out in March 2011.

The company is speculatively rolling out the smaller version of SUV, S101 which the company hopes, will bring a revolution. M&M is planning to squeeze the new small SUV to four meters or less , price expected to be will be 3 lacs.

Mahindra will not stop here, the company also plans to start the work of changing the existing Mahindra Bolero. The existing SUV is doing good in the market so the makers plans to keep the price low and for that they wish to replace LCCR engine by MSI motors, thats what rumoured.

Mahindra Scorpio will also be encountered with few changes. These changes are on halt because the firstly Mahindra Scorpio's new W408 version will be watched in the US market which is launched after W104. The company also has another ambitious car which is T206 or lighter in weight than Mahindra Scorpio which will be more powerful but slim and sleek in shape.

Mahindra has also closed the deal with debt ridden Korean company, Ssanyong in collaboration with, it will launch a variety of technologically advanced products for the buyers to drool over.
