Porsche’s GTS (Grand Turismo Sport) spirit started with the 904 Carrera GTS back in 1960s. The GTS stood for an amalgamation of pure Porsche performance with the capability of devouring long distances with ease. For the new generation of GTS models to be arriving soon, Porsche has packed in more power and performance in the lineage. The four new 911 Carrera GTS models, including a Coupe and Cabriolet, will be offered in rear wheel drive or all wheel drive options. The traditional rear mounted engine setup pushes out 430bhp of maximum power, up by 30bhp on the previous model.
The iconic flat six is coupled with a Sport Chrono pack which has dynamic engine mounts and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damper system. The system lowers car height by 10mm to increase aerodynamics. The 911 Carrera GTS sprints from 0 to 100kmph in 4.0 seconds (4.2 seconds for the Cabriolet), thanks to the super quick Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) transmission. The engine note is further enhanced by the standard fitted sports exhaust system. Styling tweaks include the 911 Carrera 4 body with wide-flared rear wheel arches and a wider track.
Another standard feature is 20 inch alloy wheels with centre-lock mechanism, painted in an exclusive matt black finish. Accentuating the nose styling are special trim elements and smoked bi-Xenon headlights with the addition of the Porsche Dynamic Lighting System (PDLS). The air intake grille on the rear engine lid features bespoke GTS black trim strips and black chrome-plated exhaust pipes. Interior cabin gets a 7-inch colour touch-screen Porsche Communication Management with satellite navigation, digital radio, a universal audio interface offering MP3 connectivity, automatic climate control. The driver and front passenger sports seats are trimmed in exclusive Alcantara and the centre seat panels are also finished in Alcantara, similar as on other Porsche GTS models.
