New 2013 Audi R8 Finally Launches in India

Launched back in 2006, the Audi R8 has now finally received the much needed makeover and launched in India today, which has got better and faster than the earlier version, however specs remain the same. The 2013 Audi R8 has been made available in a total three variants, R8 V8 Coupe, R8 V10 Coupe and R8 V10 Spyder, priced at Rs 1.34 crore, 1.57 crore and 1.73 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi) respectively.

The 2013 Audi R8 has now received the 7-Speed S-Tronic transmission replacing the older R-Tronic, which has resulted in faster and smoother drivability. Audi has also kept the 6-Speed manual transmission, so to keep manual transmission lovers happy. Having the all new S-Tronic transmission, Audi R8 V8 coupe now accelerates 0-100kmph mark in mere 4.3 seconds (0.3 seconds faster) and a top speed of 300kmph, while the new R8 V10 coupe touches the 100kmph mark in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 314kmph. However, the 2013 V10 Spyder has kept the old 5.2-litre engine that churns out the maximum of 518bhp and 530Nm of torque.

Besides the mechanical changes, the car has received some exterior styling tweaks as well, helping it look even more aggressive. It now receives the revised front fascia with new LED headlights, a six point single frame grille with horizontal inserts, new diffuser, revamped bumpers with triple crossbars and air inlets and then comes the smartly placed new R8 logo at the rear.
