American auto giant General Motors has now released the first official image of the new 2014 Camaro convertible ahead of its debut at the 65th Frankfurt Motor Show. Both the Camaro convertible and coupe versions will debut at the event. Just like the Coupe, the facelifted convertible gets modified bumpers, revamped grille and new head and tail lights. The front fascia of the car now has a wider lower grille and a narrower upper grille, while the functional bonnet vent helps reduce heat and aerodynamic lift. At the rear, horizontal maps, a diffuser and sculptural deck lid are given. It also sports a spoiler with integral antenna.
The model also gets a new MyLink infotainment system integrated with a seven-inch touch display and Bluetooth Aux/USB support. The European market will have a 6.2-litre V8 engine that is capable of churning out the maximum power output of 432bhp and 569Nm of torque. The coupe version of the 2014 Camarao takes mere 5.2 seconds to accelerate 0-100kmph, while convertible does it in 5.4 seconds.
"Camaro has always been associated with iconic design, high performance and driving fun, and we are particularly proud of the new coupe and convertible models," said Dr. Thomas Sedran, President and Managing Director, Chevrolet Europe. "They incorporate new high-tech features that add extra convenience and give customers even more value for their money," Sedran added. Ready to arrive at select Chevy dealerships across Europe by the end of the year, the 2014 Camaro's prices start from £35,320 for the coupe and £40,320 for the convertible in the UK.
