The next-gen Audi A5 has been spotted testing without any camouflage near Navi Mumbai. This is not the first time -- last month too it was snapped revealing its details. As per Zauba, a data service firm, the German automaker imported a single black-coloured unit of the Audi A5 Sportback in April and this probably is the same version.
The spied version reveals matrix LED headlamps, large air dams, five spoke twin slat alloys and the muscular bonnet having contours reaching the front grille. Apart from these, the Audi A5 Sportback is expected to carry features like the Audi virtual cockpit (fully digital TFT instrument console), Driver information system, MMI navigation system, Bang & Olufsen surround music system, LED tail lamps, premium leather upholstery, and several others.
The technical specifications of the A5 Sportback are not yet confirmed. We, though, expect it to feature the same engine as found in the imported model -- a 2.0-litre TDI Quattro diesel engine which pumps out top power of 190PS and generates 400Nm of peak torque.
Based on the MLB platform, the A5 Sportback is expected to be lighter by around 100kgs than its predecessor. With this lighter body the next-gen Sportback will be more fuel efficient and performance-oriented than the existing one.
The Audi A5 Sportback will rival the likes of the BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe and Mercedes-Benz C Class in the country.
