New Audi Q5 all set to Launch in February 2013

CarDekho has been constantly updating you on the upcoming Audi Q5 facelift; in our last story we disclosed Audi's plans of launching the vehicle in first quarter of 2013 , now our close sources have further confirmed that the new Q5 will be here as soon as February 2013. Launched back in the year 2011, Audi Q5 has been doing great for the company, but looking at the competition, it seems the right time for the vehicle to get a facelift to keep the momentum going. Audi Q5 facelift has already been doing test runs at several places, which gives us a fine idea what new the 2013 Audi Q5 has to offer to its buyers this time.

The major changes that the new Audi Q5 receives include updated hexagonal grille, new headlamps along with surround day time lamps, updated tail lamps and newly designed fog lamps. Besides exterior changes, the 2013 Audi Q5 also receives some mechanical and interior changes. The chasis of the new version has been revised- now with its five-link front suspension and trapezoidal-link rear suspension- it goes more refined and comfortable.

The new electromechanical power-steering system (replaces the older hydraulic power steering) gives the driver a better feel for the road having direct gearing. It also helped the vehicle adjust its power assist to vehicle speed and no energy consumption in straight-line driving, thus reducing fuel consumption by about 0.2 liters per 100km. The interior of the Audi Q5 too has been revised, many of the user controls now have narrow chrome trim; the steering column control stalks, instruments and ignition key have also been given subtle changes. 

The narrow panels of the centre console now go high-gloss black. All steering wheel versions, including the shift pedal versions now get the new new Q-specific styling. Ergonomically, the 2013 Audi Q5 is now better tuned, the central media component, MMI navigation plus now has four button and volume dial has a skip function as an addition. Other changes include highly efficient air condition system, the Audi drive select system, multifunction steering wheel, panoramic glass roof, updated colours and upholstery fabrics.

Three new interior colours, three fabric, three leather qualities and a total 35 different colour combinations would offer buyers a plenty of options to customize the interior as per their choice. So all these changes have certainly helped the already superb Q5 get better in every aspect. However nothing on the pricing has been disclosed yet by the company, we hope it to remain unchanged or a little here and there in that.
