Renault's fully owned subsidiary Dacia has unveiled the upgraded Duster at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The updated Dacia Duster now gets an emphatic 4x4 design cues, which further enhances the ruggedness of the vehicle. The front fascia of the new Duster gets a redesigned grille with two chrome-plated stripes and a new lower-set air intake, and new double-optic headlights with daytime running lights. The new Duster-badged roof bars with slatted supports, new 16-inch 'Anthracite' Metal alloy wheels and "Mud and Snow" tyres are added to provide a more rugged stance.
Features like new lights echo at rear, a chrome-plated tailpipe and new "4WD" lettering round out the exterior styling changes further enhance the overall car's characteristics. The cabin of the New Dacia/Renault Duster received changes to offer excellent driving pleasure. A newly designed dashboard, featuring a centre-mounted console with improved integration is added to the vehicle.
The new Dacia Duster is being offered with a front parking sensors. The vehicle also sports a range of safety accessories including a fire extinguisher kit, an anti-theft system, snow chains and a child seat. It now gets a DaciaMedia Nav, a complete multimedia system including Bluetooth connectivity and sat nav. Additionally, the vehicle also has Dacia Plug& Radio, which comprises a radio, an MP3-compatible CD player, Bluetooth connectivity and integrated jack and USB sockets.
With several smart features, new Dacia Duster comes equipped with cruise control, speed limiter, rear parking sensors, automatic door locking, and an exterior temperature display. The electric window controls are equipped with one-touch mode on the driver's side.
The company also considered various active safety equipments for the new Duster, which includes Electronic stability control, emergency brake assist, anti-lock braking system. The passive safety measures are front and driver airbags, as well as side head-and-chest airbags.
Under the hood, a new TCe 125, 4-cylinder 1.2-litre direct-injection turbo petrol engine has been offered, which produces 90 per cent of maximum torque from just 1,500rpm. The other engine options are - 105bhp, 1.6-litre and two versions of the 1.5 dCi powerplant, with 90bhp or 110bhp.
