Ford 1.0 litre EcoBoost engine has already created lots of buzz all around the globe, and its upcoming compact crossover with this engine too has created much hype all over. Now, the brilliant EcoBoost engine with compact SUV EcoSport, launched in various car markets received tremendous response from buyers. It seems like Ford India is taking too much time to bring the EcoBoost powered compact SUV, the EcoSport in India, we Indians are yet to enjoy the drive of powerful turbocharged petrol engine.
At the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show, Ford has unveiled the new Mondeo, powered by the powerful 1.5-litre EcoBoot engine. The new 2013 Ford Mondeo is built on company's global CD4 platform, and the car features the Ford Kane-Keeping system, adaptive cruise control, rear inflatable seat belts and many more advanced features.
“We’ve gone further in every aspect to bring to China the most premium Mondeo we have ever designed, developed and built,” said Marin Burela, president & CEO, Changan Ford Automobile Co., Ltd. “The all-new Mondeo is designed to stir the senses and transform expectations of what a car can be. It’s truly a flagship car, offering our Chinese customers class leading levels of refinement, driving pleasure and excitement. The Mondeo will raise the bar in craftsmanship, style and technology- delivering what we believe our loyal Chinese customers truly want and value.”
We reported earlier that Ford is planning to manufacture the more powerful 1.5 litre EcoBoost engine, and now the company has started the production of the Euro 6-compliant 1.5 litre EcoBoost engine, which will power cars like the Mondeo in Europe. With the presence of turbocharger and direct injection, this 1.5-litre petrol engine is capable of developing a massive 182PS and 240Nm of top torque. Despite such massive power output, engine will prove to be quite efficient as well, thanks to Twin VCT (Variable Cam Timing).
Both EcoBoost engines will be manufactured at Ford's production facility in Romania. However, it is quite early to say that the 1.5 litre EcoBoost engine will make its way to India. It is a possibility that Ford will introduce this powertrain in future vehicles, which will be launched in the Indian auto industry. The American auto-giant is presently busy in promoting its much-anticipated compact SUV EcoSport in India, and it is expected to be launched by the end of June this year.
