Japanese auto major, Honda that discontinued Jazz in India in order to free up the capacity for the upcoming Honda Amaze now confirmed the next-generation Jazz's debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in November under the name 'Fit'. While confirming Jazz's production halt, Hona also said that there will be an all new Jazz globally including India by 2015, which will also have a diesel version.
To be built on a new scalable platform, the next-generation Honda Jazz will have a design inspired by Honda's Urban SUV concept unveiled at the 2013 North American International Auto Show in January this year. The company has also said that the similar design will be used in several upcoming cars of Honda in future. So, we can expect to see a sportier version of Jazz in India.
Speaking about the same, Honda UK MD, Dave Hodgetts said, "The Urban SUV Concept really set out a design strategy that we want all our future cars to follow". "We want it to look sporty but we want the functionality carried over, so Jazz will still have the high seats and practicality," Hodgetts added.
However the official didn't say anything about the engines to be fitted in the car, we are hoping the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine will power the next-generation Honda Jazz, which will also do its duty to the upcoming Honda Amaze. This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on upcoming Honda Cars. Cheers!
