Maruti Suzuki India India Limited, India’s largest car manufacturer today launched its much awaited sportier and stylish car, the all new ‘Swift’.The new Maruti Swift offers best in class acceleration, high power to weight ratio and much improved fuel efficiency. With over 140 new features, many for the first time ever in an entry level variant, the new Maruti Swift is set to once again redefine “premium compact” car segment, a segment that Swift had itself created.Built on an all new platform, the new Maruti Swift is longer and wider than its predecessor.The new Maruti Swift price for the petrol variants is as follows, new Maruti Swift LXi price is tagged at Rs4.22 lakh, new Maruti Swift VXi will cost around Rs4.76 lakh and the new Maruti Swift ZXi price is Rs 5.53 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). However the Maruti Swift price for the diesel variants starts at Rs5.17 lakh for the new Maruti Swift LDi, while the Maruti Swift VDi is tagged at Rs 5.61 lakh and lastly the new Maruti Swift price for the ZDi model is tagged at Rs6.38 lakh(ex showroom Delhi).

Maruti Suzuki India India engineers have adopted several new weight reduction techniques for an enhanced power to weight ratio in the new Maruti Swift. As a result, while new Maruti Swift delivers a power-packed and sportier drive, it also offers more kilometers to every drop of fuel: 6 per cent more in diesel and 4 per cent more in the petrol version. In addition, the Company has introduced the VVT engine technology in all petrol variants of the new Maruti Swift. The highly acclaimed DDiS engine powers the diesel variant of the new Maruti Swift.

Maruti Suzuki India and its suppliers have invested over Rs. 550 Crore to make the new Maruti Swift more vibrant and sportier. The next generation Swift comes with a localization level of over 95 per cent.The Swift is iconic and special in many ways. It entered the Indian car market and became a segment reference point, a blockbuster, by selling over 600,000 units in 6 years making it by far the highest selling car in the premium compact segment.

The new Maruti Swift comes with improved fuel efficiency norms, the petrol variant will offer a decent mileage of 18.6 kmpl while the diesel variant will offer a whopping mileage of 22.9 kmpl.As per the new Maruti Swift specifications the new Maruti Swift petrol variant adorns a 1.2 liter K-series engine with VVT which delivers a torque of 114 Nm @ 4000 rpm and power of 87 ps @ 6000 rpm. The diesel variant on the other hand is powered with award winning 1.3 litre DDiS engine that delivers 190 Nm of torque @2000 rpm and 75 ps power @ 4000 rpm.Some of the features on the new Maruti Swift include, changes in dimensionssuch as the new Swift is 90mm longer sports a wider stance of 1695mm and wheelbase longer by 40mm.Reduced kerb weight in all variants (upto 30 Kgs),20mm additional knee room and 28mm more foot space for rear seats.
