New Skoda Rapid Displayed in China

Skoda has introduced a new Rapid at the 2013 Shanghai Auto Show. The car will be launched by April in China, and it will be its fourth model for the Chinese market. The new compact saloon comes with ample room, elegant design, great value, high value of safety and economical engines. The new Skoda Rapid Xin Rui is the company's show-stopper at the Shanghai Auto Show 2013. At the show, along with new Rapid, visitors can also witness the Skoda Yeti, the Superb Combi. Fabia and the Octavia.
The Czech auto-major's larges exhibit in Shanghai underscores the company’s ambition for growth in its largest market. The new compact Rapid has been customized to the needs of Chinese customers and offers a total of nine different packages.
“The Skoda Rapid is crucial for our growth in the next few years,” says Skoda’s CEO Winfried Vahland. “China in particular is a key growth market for us. We are looking to expand here in the coming years with the Rapid and other new models. The Rapid has everything going for it to become another successful model of our brand in China. It boasts roominess, expressive design, great value, high functionality, comprehensive safety features, and economical engines. This is the new Skoda class for China,” says Vahland.
The company aims to sale around half a million units per year in the Chinese auto market. Skoda is looking to expand its model range, and all set to launch the new Rapid Xin Rui and the Skoda Yeti SUV in China by the end of this year. The Skoda Superb estate is also available as an import and Yeti SUV will be purchased as in import model. New Skoda Octavia is scheduled to launch in the Chinese auto market in 2014.
For India, it is not clear that Skoda will launch the new Rapid, although we could soon witness the new 2013 Octavia. The new Octavia has been caught testing number of times in India, indicating the launch is not far.
