New Toyota Fortuner: More details emerge

Few days back we revealed the news that Toyota India is eyeing to revamp its very successful SUV Toyota Fortuner which was launched two years back. Now here we are with more details on the new Toyota Fortuner. Fortuner has earned fame not only in the domestic market but also on international platform. It has been dominating Indian SUV market for over past two years. Relevant sources have reported that facelifted Toyota Fortuner is expected to sport some cosmetic changes that may comprehend larger chrome grille with horizontal slats instead of the current honeycomb element, larger headlamps, a new front bumper with new fog lamps and the same for the rear. The newly designed chrome grille will give it a resonance of Toyota Land Cruiser. Some minor changes may also be seen in its interior that mostly relate to trim and instrumentation.

The current version of Toyota Fortuner and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado share the same 3.0 litre  diesel engine procuring an ideal 169bhp, however the facelifted Toyota Fortuner is expected to churn out more torque. It has also been speculated that Toyota India may unveil automatic version of its Toyota Fortuner.As per the latest update, facelifted Toyota Fortuner is expected to hit Indian roads by early-2012, with an upward revision in the price-tag.

Toyota India also mulls to facelift Toyota Innova which is its popular MPV, landed on Indian shores, seven years back. After its showcase, only minor upgradations have been made to the model that primarily include upliftment of engine so as to meet BS-IV norms. However, recently market faced drastic changes in the demand and expectations of the potential customers and also due to increasing threat from other manufactures, therefore Toyota India has decided to revitalize its Toyota Innova. The upgradation may include new headlamps, horizontal chrome slats, new front bumper with fog lamps, etc.
