New Toyota Land Cruiser Prado in India

Toyota is going to launch its new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado in India on Thursday. According to news reports, the new Toyota Land Cruiser Prado might be launched with a 3.0 litre diesel option. The new avatar of the car is likely to be priced between Rs 40 to 50 lakh in India. However, official confirmation is awaited on the launch and pricing. The car was displayed at Frankfurt Auto Expo mid 2009. The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado comes loaded with the 3.0 litre D-4D turbo common rail diesel mill. It houses five-speed automatic transmission. The powerful mill of the car belts out 171 bhp at 3,400 rpm and peak torque of 410 Nm between 1,600 and 2,800 rpm. The upgraded car is equipped with the Multi-terrain Select. This system controls power and braking automatically as per the off-road surface. The vehicle is also blessed with four cameras which provide live video feeds for assistance. The company, Toyota, is also heard to launch a new small car in India at Delhi Auto Expo. The new compact car is christened Toyota Etios. The car, Toyota Etios, is supposed to have 1.2 litre petrol engine and automatic transmission. Apart from this compact car, Volkswagen Polo and Ford Figo are also slated to be unveiled in the grand show at New Delhi.
