Japanese car maker, Suzuki Motor Corporation has now announced to launch an improved version of its Alto (known as A-Star in India) Eco minivehicle on March 4, 2013. The next-generation Alto Eco minivehicle will return an outstanding 33kmpl of mileage, which is better than the existing model's 30.2kmpl and even higher than the Toyota Prius hybrid's claimed 32.6kmpl.
What has helped the new Alto become the most fuel-efficient vehicle of its league are a number of eco-friendly technologies used in the vehicle including a regenerative braking system and an idling-stop system. However, nothing on the Indian launch of the vehicle has been said by the company as of now, the company sells the similar vehicle (A-Star) in India, which is likely to receive a facelift within this year. So, if this particular version with a fuel efficiency of 33kmpl comes to India, would surely become an instant hit as diesel prices have been decontrolled now by the government, so a petrol hybrid makes much sense here.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
