Japanese auto major, Suzuki that launched the facelift version of its popular mass segment car the Alto (known as A-Star in India) in China, is now planning to launch the similar vehicle in India as well. Even before the facelifted version of the vehicle entered India, first spyshots of the next generation Suzuki Alto aka A-Star caught by autoblog has created the sensation in the auto community worldwide. The next generation A-Star's length and height has been increased, so as the cabin space, making it more comfortable than before.
Suzukifans and autoblog report that Suzuki has increased the length and height of the car heavily to help it gain more space and reduce current generation's weakness. The new age A-Star/Alto will be taller than average A-segment cars, making it a 'tallboy'.
Interiors of the car might be inspired from the new WagonR, which was launched in Japan sometime back, however engine might remain the same, which means the existing 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine might continue to do its duty to the new vehicle as well that churns out the maximum power output of 69bhp and 90Nm of torque.
However there are no words about launching the vehicle in India, as there will be the facelift version first in India, which has made its debut in China already. And India being one of the biggest markets for the giant, might receive the 2014 version as well, which is being tested currently. So stay tuned to CarDekho for all the latest updates on the same. Cheers!
