The upcoming Hyundai Grand i10 has been spied numerous times in the last few months but its official launch date has been confirmed now. This third-gen i10 hatchback will be launched in India on 20 August 2019 with redesigned exterior, interior and additional features.

We believe that the new Grand i10 will be roomier than before, especially since the new Santro is more spacious than the outgoing Grand i10. The updated exterior will feature Hyundai’s latest design language including the cascading grille. It has also been seen with new alloys and multi-reflector headlamps in previous spy shots.
Inside, the second-gen Grand i10 is expected with a new steering wheel, floating touchscreen infotainment (possibly the same 8.0-inch unit as seen in the Venue), updated dashboard layout and more. It is also expected to get Hyundai’s BlueLink e-SIM connected car technology which would make it the first in its segment to offer that range of features.
No changes are expected on the powertrains for the new Grand i10. It will likely be powered by the same set of 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol unit makes 83PS and 113Nm while the diesel produces 75PS and 190Nm. Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual with the choice of a 4-speed AT too. However, the 4-speed AT may be replaced by a 5-speed AMT that debuted on the new Santro with both diesel and petrol engines.
Hyundai is expected to price the new Grand i10 at a slight premium over the current model which is priced between Rs 4.98 lakh to Rs 7.63 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, if it is launched with the engines already updated to meet BS6 emission norms, the premium over current prices would be much higher, especially for diesel variants. It will renew its rivalry with the likes of the Maruti Swift, Ford Figo and Nissan Micra.
