Nissan Leaf, the electric car has been rated equivalent to 99 miles per gallon on both the highway and city drives by the US regulators. The statement was released by Japanese Auto maker Nissan claiming the Leaf delivers similar mileage in the city and on highway roads.
Officials from Nissan reported that, Leaf on the basis of driving range was rated by the US Environmental Protection Agency at 73 miles for window sticker which is required in new cars sold to the buyers.
Nissan has manufactured the Leaf to cross 100 mile (160 Kilometer range), it is rated in a method which is used in California which is different from EPA systems.
The Leaf is one of the perfect example of the electric vehicles. This EV is a fully electric car in the highly competent electric vehicle range or in the plug-in range which is expected to be in the market by next year. Nissan Motor is the first car manufacturer which announced an EPA rating in its cars.
As per the Nissan Motors, Leaf the Ev needs to be charged for seven hours as per the EPA, the car is priced at $32,780 (ex-showroom price). The car price will be reduced to almost $7,500 due to the Federal tax credit and state incentives.
As the rules against the vehicle emissions are being followed strictly, Nissan Leaf will get a subsidy of $ 5,000 as incentives from the state of California.
The new electric car will be on sale in December in five US states including Oregon, California, Arizona, Washington and Tennessee. Nissan Motors has also planned to sell the Ev in Texas and Hawaii islands by January and will eventually expand in other US states in next year.
The Leaf on the EPA sticker rate is equivalent of around 106 miles per gallon in city roads and on the highways it is expected to be 92 miles. Meanwhile, General Motors is expected to start importing electric vehicle Chevrolet Volt in December while Ford Motors' Focus, the electric compact car, is expected to be out in the last quarter of the next year.
