Launch of the much talked about Nissan Sunny automatic version seems actually not far. While everyone in the industry were just guessing different launch dates and timelines, a Team-BHP member has got the access of the price list of the Sunny, which also has the price of the upcoming Nissan CVT version. So, we are expecting the vehicle to be rolled out in a few weeks time. From the price list, it is clear that only the mid petrol variant XL is going to get the automatic gearbox and will cost Rs. 8.92 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
Nissan Sunny will use the similar five-speed CVT transmission, which has been used by its counterpart Renault Scala. Price wise both the vehicles will be almost alike, as the Sunny would cost only Rs 2,000 lesser than that of the Scala. Except the automatic transmission, the vehicle will remain the same. Nissan has also said to launch the automatic version of its flagship hatchback, the Micra in India, but that must happen by mid 2013.
As per the Nissan's "Global 88" strategy, the company expects to achieve eight per cent market share by 2016 and an eight per cent growth on consolidated operating profits. While in India the company is hoping 10 per cent market share by 2015 from the existing 1.6 per cent.
This is all what we have for now, stay tuned to CarDekho for all the updates on the same. Cheers!
