Nissan Sunny to launch on Sep 20, to be priced at Rs 8 lakh

Nissan Sunny is on the brink of its launch and set to unveil its contours on September 20. Nissan will be manufacturing this mid-size sedan at its Oragadam plant near Chennai, from where Renault Duster will also be manufactured. Nissan Sunny price is expected to be around Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). This C-Segment sedan is based on Renault-Nissan V-Platform.

After spreading its word by hatchback Nissan Micra, this Japanese company is on another spree to drive volumes.In India, the Nissan Sunny sedan will be packed with a 1.5 Litre petrol engine producing 99 Bhp power and 134 Nm torque on wheels. After some time, Nissan plans to bring a diesel engine variant also, as done for the Micra hatchback. Nissan Sunny which is already available in US and China will be offered in three variants namely Nissan Sunny XE, Nissan Sunny XL and Nissan Sunny XV in India. The petrol engine of the car comes with an ARAI certified fairly decent mileage of 16.95 kmpl and will help Nissan Sunny to take on the likes of the new Ford Fiesta, the Hyundai Verna, the Honda City, the Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Swift Dzire, Tata Indigo Manza and the Fiat Linea.

Nissan Sunny specifications are quite distinct as the sedan offers ample of leg space at the rear seats unlike any other sedan. Nissan Sunny will sport body color rear view mirrors, body color mud flaps, door handles and bumper. The executive looking sedan comes with rear AC vents. Safety is on priority with Nissan brand. It is quite evident by looking at the safety features. While ABS is present in all variants, number of airbags change as per the price of variant. XE variant is equipped with only driver’s side airbag whereas XL and XV variants are provided with additional passenger airbags. Other features adding to the comfort quotient are push button start and automatic climate control.
