The guys over at Indianautosblog have managed to capture images of two Nissan Sylphys with trade plates being tested in Thailand. The Sylphy is known in India as the popular Nissan Sunny. Now while the car is already available in dealerships in Thailand there is reason to suspect that these two could be test subjects. There seem to be no cosmetic changes in these two cars, but there may be a possibility of mechanical and interior changes.

Currently the Sylphy (Sunny) comes in two engine options in Thailand which include the 1.6-litre petrol and the 1.8-litre petrol, both of which are mated to an Xtronic-CVT transmission. The 1.6-litre petrol Sylphy also comes with manual transmission. Interestingly enough Nissan India has commented on the possibility of the Sylphy coming to India during the Nissan Evalia launch.

He went on to say that in order for the Sylphy to survive in India, it would require a diesel engine and other changes. While nothing has been confirmed or denied, we’ll simply have to wait and see if Nissan India has any plans of bringing the Sylphy to Indian shores. Until then enjoy these images and stay tuned!
