Nissan to employ new capacity for exports

Nissan India will now employ the capacity of its new production line of 2 lakh vehicles every year from March 2012 for exports. As per the Vice President (operations) of Hover Automotive India, Mr. Manoj Kumar, the 2 lakh capacity that would be added from the second production line, will probably be used for exporting vehicles from India until the domestic sales go up on the graph.

Hover Automotive India is a partner of Nissan India to run the sales, service, marketing, training, dealer development and parts function in the Indian car market for Nissan’s products. Mr. Kiminobu Tokuyama, the CEO and Managing Director of Nissan India mentioned that the second production line of vehicle cum engine developing factory of Nissan-Renault located near Chennai will commence from August 2012.

Right now, major chunk of sales of Nissan cars secure accounts for the exports of Nissan Micra and Nissan Sunny models. Mr. Manoj Kumar said that Nissan India will continue to focus on the Indian sales and exports would not be done at the cost of domestic sales. Currently, the firm is busy amplifying sales network in India from 51 to 100 by the year 2013. The company is hoping to touch the mark of 100000 sales by 2013-2014. In 2012, Nissan India is hoping to sell about 40000 cars.
