Nissan’s Marketing & Sales Vice President Ajay Raghuvanshi has left the company to "pursue other options”. In the company, Raghuvanshi was credited for developing an independent sales and distribution network in India. Over the development, Nissan Motor India has confirmed Raghuvanshi’s resignation but didn’t provide any further details. While sources close to company said that he was sidelined after Nissan roped in Mahindra & Mahindra veteran Arun Malhotra to head its domestic unit as managing director.
Raghuvanshi joined the company in March 2013 and exactly two years later he left the company. In Nissan India, he led the introduction of Nissan’s low-cost brand Datsun in India when the automaker launched its entry level hatch Go. Mr Raghuvanshi also played important role in shaping up Nissan marketing network after the company terminated its agreement with Hover Automotive India which used to exclusively sell, market and distribute Nissan's vehicles and parts in India.
Prior to his stint in Nissan, he has also worked with other carmakers like Hyundai, Honda and Tata Motors and was then hired by the Japanese carmaker to improve its market share.
While the homegrown carmaker Tata Motors too saw a stir in top management as Ranjit Yadav President of the international division resigned from his post. The company earlier roped Maruti Suzuki veteran Mayank Pareek to head the domestic unit while Yadav was posted to head of international car markets which is believed to be the main reason for Yadav’s resignation.
