Peter T Honegg appointed as new MD&CEO for Mercedes-Benz India

Leading premium brand, Merecedes-Benz has today announced that Peter T Honegg  will be now  acting as new Managing Director and CEO for Mercedes- Benz India. Honegg wil replace Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, the present MD&CEO for Mercedes-Benz India and will take incharge in the first quarter of 2011.

Peter T Honegg has been with Daimler AG since 1976 and is presently the president & CEO of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia. He has vast experience and has capability to manage high growth markets.

The German brand, Merecedes-Benz is manufacturer of automobile, buses, coaches and trucks. Mercedes-Benz is the division of Daimler AG, the parent group.Merecedes-Benz has its origin in Karl Benz's first petrol car. This premium car manufacturer was first marked 1901 by Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft. The first brand name vehicles were produced in 1926. Merecedes-Benz, today is one of the oldest,most trusted and leading brands worldwide. Since its establishment it has come with new innovations in regular intervals.

Mercedes-Benz India is a fully owned subsidiary of Daimler AG,based in pune. Mercedes-Benz was introduced in India by Daimler AG in 1994. In first half 2010(i.e from January to June),Mercedes-Benz has recorded sales of 2,402 vehicles in India which is an outstanding figure for any premium brand and they hope that they would cross 5,000 units sales by the end of this year.

Recently, Mercedes-Benz India has launched its Mercedes-Benz M class grand edition. This premium Sports Utility Vehicle(SUV) will come in two variants Grand Sports and Grand Executive. The Grand Sports Edition will be of Rs. 54.11 lakhs approximately(Ex-showroom Pune) and the Grand Executive edition will be of Rs. 47.91 lakhs approximately(Ex-showroom Pune). Moreover, Mercedes-Benz has also planned to bring in hatchback model which would cost around Rs. 15 lakhs. The manufacturing of these cars would be done in Mercedes-Benz manufacturing facility at Hungary.

Currently Merecedes-Benz is dealing with 11 models in India which includes Mercedes-Benz CL, Mercedes-Benz CLS, Merecedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, Mercedes-Benz M-Class, Mercedes-Benz New C-Class, Mercedes-Benz R-Class, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class and Mercedes-Benz SLS-MG.
