PEUGEOT 308 introduces Performance Enriched GT Models

After the initial success of Peugeot 308, the manufacturer in order to expand the model lineup introduced the performance enhanced GT variants. The performance variants are made available in both the hatch and station wagon body types. Peugeot 308 was recently awarded as European Car of the Year for the year 2014 and to keep the legacy, the GT models embrace stylish exterior design, novel PEUGEOT i-Cockpit cabin and in spite of GT badge, the car delivers high fuel economy and ultra-low emissions.

Sporty Exterior Design

The 308 GT features new exterior profile- the iconic Peugeot Lion emblem now moves to the front grille from the bonnet, while the front headlamps are now made from the 62 LEDs. The car sits on 18-inch ‘Diamant’ wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tyres. The rear gets lacquered black diffuser with stylish twin exhaust pipes. The GT badge is embedded at the rear tailgate and one thing we forget to tell, the GT models also get  a new and exclusive ‘Magnetic Blue’.

Elegant Interior

Peugeot 308 GT features all new upholstery with red stitching which can be found on the dashboard, seats, door panels, gearbox and floor mats. The gas pedal (accelerator) gets aluminium styling while the door scuff plates gets stainless steel cover. The adjustable steering wheel gets perforated leather wrap and GT badge.

Engine and Transmission

Under the hood, Peugeot 308 GT gets option of both petrol and diesel engines. Both the powertrains comply to Euro 6 emissions standards. The petrol models are powered by four-cylinder 1.6-litre THP 205 engine are mated to six-speed manual gearbox. The engine develops a maximum power of 171bhp with a peak torque of 285Nm. Further, the four-cylinder 2.0-litre BlueHDi 180 diesel motor does the duty of developing an output of 180hp and maximum torque of 400Nm at 2,000rpm. The engine is coupled to an EAT6 six-speed automatic gearbox.
