Ford India has again assured that its plans for India remains unchanged. General Motors also reported to be with same plans.  Asked about the impact of slump in new year’s couple of months in the domestic market, Ford spokesperson in India said, “Ford should not be compared to any other global automobile players facing problems, and even internationally we have not asked for any relief or bailout package. In India, our plans are unchanged and we are moving forward aggressively.” In these difficult times Ford is believed to be targeting tier II and rural market, said a senior officer. General Motors has been concentrating on the semi-urban market and has also managed to market its products successfully in this segment.
