After completing a successful year by proving its mettle in the cut-throat SUV segment, the Anniversary Edition of the popular SUV Creta was revealed in Bangalore today. Celebrating this special occasion, Hyundai presented the very first Anniversary Edition Creta to Saina Nehwal, Indian badminton player on winning the Australian Open 2016.
The Internet was abuzz with speculations regarding the ‘extra features’ that this SUV might endorse and at last, Hyundai has raised the curtain off its star performer. An official launch will soon follow by this month end.
So what’s new?
First of all, the biggest change is the blackened top covering the roof and pillars, done in a glossy black paint instead of going for a matte finish. Hyundai has also jazzed up the special edition with body decals running onto the side – done in matte grey and red. The C-pillars also sport ‘1 Anniversary Edition’ decals that add a distinct appeal.
Celebrating the success of Creta, Y K Koo, managing director and CEO, Hyundai Motors India Ltd expressed, “Ms. Saina is badminton icon of India. Her consistent performance has elevated this sport’s enthusiasm to a great level of admiration among badminton lovers globally. Creta is an icon in SUV segment and with its superior performance and style it’s a perfect SUV for global customers.”
From what we could observe about this new addition, it does look quite chic in white (colour of the displayed car). The blackened top makes the SUV appear sporty, while the decals highlight its character lines on the side. It’s unlikely that Hyundai will introduce any mechanical changes under its hood. However, we will have to wait for the model's official launch to get the exact specifications. Till then, enjoy this new avatar of the Creta. Do share your thoughts on this new addition in the comments section below.
