The 13th edition of 2016 Auto Expo is about to happen in a week’s time. With lots of enthusiasm, the upcoming event will be a lot more exciting than the previous one. Along with other prominent auto manufacturers, Renault, the french carmaker will also be showcasing its vehicle line-up. Though, the vehicles are few, but are worth mentioning and have made a great impact in the Indian market since their inception.

Duster Facelift

The pioneer of the compact SUV segment, Duster is now a well established name in India. Due to advent of Ford EcoSport and Hyundai Creta, the car started to lose its charm, so Renault has decided to give it a handsome update this time. The facelift has already been launched in the Brazilian market and has been doing test rounds in various cities across India. Amongst the major alteration, we will see a new single slat grill and refreshed headlamp cluster, fresh set of alloys and revamped taillights. As far as engine is concerned, new Duster will continue to sport the same 1.5 litre DCi mill that produces 89bhp and 109bhp, depending on the trim. While it will also house the same 1.6 litre petrol powertrain that pumps out 102bhp and 148Nm of peak torque.

Renault Kwid AMT 1.0 litre

Renault in 2015 had pulled a rabbit out of the hat i.e. Kwid. The small car with its SUVish looks, class leading mileage and competitive price tag left the rivals biting their nails. Now Renault is all prepared to launch a spruced up 1.0 litre variant of Kwid. It will help the carmaker in tackling the powerful versions like K10, more easily. The new engine will enable it to deliver 77bhp, 24 horses more than the 800cc version. Moreover, the transmission system will also be different with an AMT module attached to the engine. The new variant is likely to get ABS as well.

Other Cars

Besides above mentioned two prominent launches, Renault also plans to bring Eolab, the plug-in hybrid car and a special edition of Lodgy MPV. Other attractions at Renault pavilion will be the F1 racing car RS01.
