The Delhi Auto Expo is burning red hot at the moment and big brands like Renault are making the most of it. The French automaker showcased the concept car Eolab at the big event that is claimed to deliver a mileage of 100kmpl which if true, is simply phenomenal.
The Director of Design Synergies of the group, Mr. Patrick Lecharpy was present at the Auto Expo and stated that the hybrid car could be on the streets by 2022 and no longer stay a concept. He further stated that this was a result of a project initiated by the French state to study 2 litre engines. Eolab has 100 bricks of innovation out of which 20 already are available in the existing Renault models. Out of the remaining, sixty will be implemented within the next 8 to 10 years however, the remaining twenty’s implementation still remains in doubt according to Mr. Patrick Lecharpy.
Few of the innovations that the concept car Eolab has with it includes carbon floor, a smaller and lighter cylinder engine along with a magnesium roof. The usage of the lighter material and a smaller engine leads to reduction in the overall weight of the car by 30 percent which is definitely terrific. The design of the car is aerodynamically friendly that uses an integrated grille enabling the air to pass through the front entry. The newly entered air passes over the wheels coming out of the aerodynamic arches and the side portion. As and when the car reaches a speed of 70kmph, the pair of flaps at the rear portion of the car opens up. Eolab uses an automatic gearbox while its first couple of gears run with electric power and when the driver goes to higher gears, the engine draws power from the gas.
