Renault Duster Facelift: Variants, Features and Highlights

Renault has silently launched the much awaited Duster facelift on 2nd March at a price tag of Rs. 8.47 lakhs (Ex-showroom, New Delhi). Though the car is essentially the same, there is a lot to differentiate it from the outgone model. What the different Duster variants have to offer, we find out.
Engines
Like its predecessor, the latest edition of Duster gets a similar set of engines, however, as an added benefit the diesel variants now come with an AMT. On the diesel side, there are two engine options, the 1.5-litre dCi that produces 85 PS and the other with same displacement that produces 110 PS. The relatively underpowered engine comes with a 5-speed manual, while the powerful one is mated to a 6-speed manual and an AMT. On the petrol side, it gets a powerful 1.6-litre engine that churns out max power of 105 PS.

Standard
This base variant gets a fair amount of features, the most prominent ones are listed below:
- Two tone body coloured front bumper
- Kayak roof rails
- Cederwood interiors
- Tilt adjustable steering column
Downers of this variant
- No rear power windows
- No wheel caps
- No infotainment system
- No ABS-EBD and Airbags
Renault Duster RxE
Along with the standard variant offerings, the add-on features of RxE variant include
- Waterfall LED taillamps
- Front and rear power windows
- Rear parcel shelf and storage space
- ABS and EBD with Brake Assist
- Front and rear power windows
- Wheel caps on steel wheels
Downers of this variant
- No rear central armrest
- No rear reading lamps
- No automatic on offer
Renault Duster RxL
This variant is where you get a decently specced car. Along with the features of RxE, this one offers a few more.
- Optional AMT gearbox
- 110 PS dCi motor, lower one gets the 85 PS one
- 6-speed gear option
- Rear passenger reading lamps
- Diagonally woven seat fabric
- Rear seat armrest with two cup holders
- Integrated 2-Din music system
- Bluetooth connectivity and telephony with 4-speakers
- Electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs
- Gear shift indicator
- Driver airbag only
- ESP and Hill Start Assist with AMT
Downer
- No alloy wheels
Renault Duster RxS
Along with the features of the RxL variant, this one gets the following:
- Alloy wheels
- Firefly foglamps
- Sporty double seat fabric, looks more premium
- Sporty red colour on door trim handle
- Gear shift indicator with manual transmission
Downer
- No passenger airbag
Renault Duster RxZ
Along with the above mentioned features, it gets the below add-ons.
- Offered with an all wheel drive variant
- Automatic air conditioner
- Anti-pinch power windows
- Driver side auto up and down
- Driver seat armrest
- Height adjustable driver seat with lumbar support
- Height adjustable front seatbelts
- Driver and passenger airbags
Undoubtedly, Renault Duster is a decently packaged vehicle, and one can opt for this across the variant range at different price points. There is also a new colour choice that has been added (Cayenne Orange), which has made this tough little SUV even more appealing.
