The Renault Duster is credited with establishing Renault’s brand image in the country. The carmaker sells nearly 2000+ Dusters every month. Its butch looks and supple ride quality made it an instant hit in India where people crave for things that augment their social status.
The introduction of GST (Goods Service Tax) on July 1, 2017 has been, by far and large, beneficial for the Indian automotive market. Except for the hybrid ones, many of the vehicles have benefitted from this one-nation-one-tax policy. Among others, the new tax regime has impacted the cost of the SUVs in a positive way.
The French carmaker recently decided to pass on the GST benefits to its customers. Apart from the Kwid, the Renault SUV too got its share of gains. The Renault Duster prices are now slashed in the range of Rs 20,000 – Rs 1.34 lakh depending on cities. To know more about the new tax structure and its effect on car prices, click here.

It’s a fact that it was the Duster which rejigged the slow-moving SUV segment in the subcontinent until we saw a flurry of them rolling out from different carmakers. It is powered by 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. While the former motor produces 106PS of power, the diesel-powered trims are available in two states of tunes – 85PS and 110PS. The Duster offers a fuel efficiency of 14.19kmpl with petrol and 19.87kmpl with diesel engines.
