Renault Fluence diesel gets an upgrade, now offered at Rs 14.5 lakh

While the car manufacturers are literally moving heaven and earth together to push the petrol car sales, Renault India for a change has done something different this time. Renault India has come back with a major upgrade on the Renault Fluence diesel sedan adding all the features that the diesel variant was lacking in. Now, there are quite a few exciting new features in the diesel variant, that the consumers can look forward to. The dual zone automatic climate control is included, which is a must-have in all the latest upmarket sedans. One of the most advanced safety measures, the cruise control, automatic light sensing headlamps and rain sensing wipers are a part of the upgrade.

The charming new beige tones in the interiors are to attract those who have a particular weakness for this shade of color. If we go by what rumours indicate, a majority of Indians have beige as their favourite color. All this come for a substantial raise in the Renault Fluence price of around Rs 1.4 lakh. This mean Renault Fluence diesel now sells at Rs 14.5 lakh, almost same as its petrol twin. Probably based on the demand for diesel cars in India, Renault has compromised on certain features in the diesel variant to place the Renault Fluence diesel price competitively. Quite obviously, the auto major had to drop certain features out in the diesel variant as compared to Renault Fluence petrol. All the same, the diesel car lovers wanted all the features in the petrol variant to be included in the diesel variant as well.

So, the strategy, what Renault thought would work in favour of them, did not quite turn out that way. But, now the Renault Fluence diesel has almost all the features from the petrol variant without any difference in the price tag. So, this time around, the Fluence diesel could bring about the sales the auto major had anticipated as the consumers have absolutely no reason to complain. Because, they get the diesel sedan at the same price as petrol car that too with lower running costs. The same 1.5 L diesel powertrain continues to power the sedan with 105 Bhp and 240 Nm peak power and torque.
