Renault India to launch two new products next year

With an aim of pushing its market share up by five percent in next two years, Indian arm of the French carmaker Renault, will introduce a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) and a small car in 2015, reports PTI. Currently, Renault enjoys 2.6 percent of the car market share in India, and by the end of March, it is expected to touch close to three percent.

"We are ready with the next car. We have products in the pipeline which will give us volume and We want to cross 5 per cent market share in two years time," said Renault's Country CEO and Managing Director Sumit Sawhney.

Renault holds plans to expand its dealership network pan India to 175 dealerships by this year end. While, in the southern region, it will have 45 outlets from the current 38 outlets by the end of 2014.

Particularly in the state of Kerala, the French manufacturer has a market share of 2.8 percent and the manufacturer expects it to cross 3.5 percent. And to increase its reach in Kerala and taking Renault products to customers doorsteps, the car maker hopes to have dealerships in totally 12 locations in the state by the year end.

Renault India Pvt Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Renault SAS France, currently offers five models in the Indian market, including Fluence, Koleos premium-SUV, Pulse hatchback, Scala sedan and the brand's best seller Duster SUV.

Furthermore, the French maker is all set to add another model to its line-up- 4X4 avtaar of its best-sller Duster SUV. This AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) version is similar to the existing Duster apart from the four wheel drive setup, AWD badging and some external mods.
