Renault India is a known car manufacturer in India. Renault engine plant situated in Chennai is expected to be up and running properly by the month of April 2012. The engine manufacturing plant will be actually a part of the process of localization for Renault India for its brand new hatchback car.

Renault’s hatchback is expected to be launched in the month of January 2012. This new hatchback car of Renault will solely target Indian consumers as the Renault engine plant will manufacture this car and make it in India, thereby pricing the car reasonably. It is expected that Renault's hatchback will come within the same pace as Maruti Swift and Volkswagen Polo.

As per the vice president of Sales and Marketing of Renault India, Mr. Len Curran, the Chennai engine plant of Renault India will be functioning properly by the month of April 2012 and it will expand the production capacity to more than 1 Lakh engine every year. This information was given at the launch of its new sedan Renault Fluence in Pune. Renault’s hatchback will be offered in both diesel and petrol versions. This hatchback car will be amongst the three products that are expected to be launched next year by Renault India.

Renault India’s newly launched car, Renault Fluence has been receiving raving reviews. It is expected that this firm will launch its premium SUV, known as Renault Koleos somewhere near October 2011. Mr. Curran said that the next three cars will come with around 65 to 80% local content. From the time of launch of Renault Fluence, the firm has managed to sell around 290 units. The main aim of Renault India is to build its image much stronger. It is targeting to grab about 5% market share in future.
