We have already set our eyes upon Renault Pulse hatchback once before back in October soon after the first Indian F1 race. And after almost three months later, the French car manufacturer has launched the most anticipated hatchback amidst an equally prominent event of the country, the 2012 Auto Expo this season. The hatchback has been launched in diesel guise only in two variants viz; Renault Pulse RLX and Renault Pulse RXZ priced at Rs 5.77 lakh and 6.25 lakh (ex-showroom prices) respectively. Renault is also offering 2+2 years of warrenty or 80,000 kms whatever happens first.
Powered with the 1.5 DCi diesel engine, the car will deliver a promising mileage of 23.8 kmpl. Renault Pulse is another car from the auto giant to see a localised production at their Chennai plant in Oragadam it shares with Nissan. Built along the same lines as Nissan Micra sharing the same V platform, the Renault Pulse is powered by an all-diesel K9K engine to belt out 64 Bhp peak power @ 4000 rpm and and 160 Nm of peak torque at 2000 rpm. The aggressive looking compact hatchback except for the frontal look is more like the Nissan Micra we have been seeing so far especially along the interiors and the dashboard settings.
The top end variant of the hatchback, RXZ comes equipped with variety of features like start and stop button, smart access key for lock and unlock, sensor for auto lock and unlock for rear mirrors, auto climate control, leather wrapped steering wheel, gear knob, weather defogger with timer, roof spoiler, front fog lamp and 15 inch alloy wheels.
The base model sports power steering, all power windows, central locking, air conditioning, integrated audio syetem, rear wiper and washer, 14 inch wheels and follow me head lamp comes as a standard feature. The company will also add another member (Duster SUV) to its clan of cars by the year end.
